In my free time I love to spend time outdoors with my dog learning about trees and plants I come across, study herbal medicine, visit my local library, cozy up with a good book and go to dance classes.
I grew up in the swampy suburbs of Houston, Texas!
My family is supportive and loving. I have my sweet fur baby (a 10 year old Mini Poodle mix) and she is my biggest supporter. My wonderful Aunt and Grandma live in Des Moines while the rest of my family is in Texas and North Dakota!
Why I became a massage therapist... I became a massage therapist out of a desire to assist people in finding what it truly means to be embodied. Along with other healing modalities, massage personally led me to understand that I feel empowered when I listen to my body as a whole rather than over intellectualizing my current life circumstances. Massage has brought me peace and a deeper understanding of myself. I am honored to hold space with my clients to explore what that may look like for them.
Where do I see myself in 5 years.. In 5 years, I will have gained education and experience in massage modalities such as Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Reflexology and Craniosacral Therapy. I will also have received a more formal education on herbal medicine. My dream is to integrate a variety of healing modalities to create a space where community members can come and explore what healing means for them. I would offer services such as massage therapy, herbal medicine and somatic movement classes. Individuals can partake in any or all of these services depending on where they are at in their journey. The overall goal is to create a community space centered on loving ourselves so we can love each other.
What do I love about Des Moines? I love that in Des Moines you can get basically anywhere in 15 minutes or less. It has a small city feel but with everything you could ever need or want. I love how it doesn't feel chaotic and the speed limits are much lower than anywhere else I've lived :) Iowa nice is so real and I love it.
